BioPak has always been committed to sustainable packaging solutions, and in 2022, we took a step further by developing in-house machinery for a new dry pulp moulding method. This innovative method is a new endeavour for BioPak and is a result of our collaboration with raw material suppliers.
The dry pulp technology offers significant benefits over traditional wet pulp production methods. Our current bagasse products are categorised under the wet pulp method, where sugarcane is pulped into a slurry and injected into moulds. Heat and pressure are then used to dry the sugarcane into the required shapes. In contrast, with dry pulp technology, the sugarcane arrives as sheets that are PFAS-free, and we press them into the shapes we require, such as rectangular or square containers.
This revolutionary method offers packaging solutions that are energy-efficient, time-saving, and free of PFAS. With this technology, we are proud to have achieved a 40% energy reduction compared to wet pulp production methods.
At BioPak, we believe in creating sustainable packaging solutions without compromising on quality. Our dry pulp technology is a testament to this belief. Our customers can enjoy an eco-friendly packaging solution without compromising functionality or aesthetics.
