A collaboration between Berry Global and T2 Maschinenbau is highlighting the possibilities of recycled plastic content in Single Wound Sheet (SWS) films, used to make PE bags for a wide range of end applications including agriculture, horticulture, chemicals, construction, and consumer and industrial products.
The two companies displayed their efforts at Fachpack 2024, where T2 exhibited a continuously operating Vertical Form Fill Seal (VFFS) packaging machine, with an integrated double belt scale, using SWS film from Berry that incorporates 50 per cent recycled plastic content from Berry’s range of Sustane™ Recycled Content.
Berry’s high-performance SWS films can be used to create visually stunning and durable packaging, thanks to the exceptional depth and clarity of its printing surface. Optimised for photographic finishes, the film can be decorated with up to ten colour prints providing maximum branding opportunities.
As SWS is suitable for the types of VFFS packing lines T2 produces, T2 was attracted by the opportunity to demonstrate the capabilities of their machine and its ability to run sustainable film solutions. “Our SWS films with Sustane Recycled Content are ideal for rapid and efficient filling automation, offering excellent branding potential all while delivering an improved environmental profile,” said Elke Kellermann, Sales Manager at Berry.
