Berlin Packaging, the world’s largest Hybrid Packaging Supplier® specializing in glass, plastic, and metal packaging and closures, debuts at Wine Paris, the leading international event for wine and spirits professionals, presenting its portfolio of innovative solutions for the wine and spirits’ market.
Berlin Packaging takes innovation to new heights in this sector showing its latest innovation related to the “Sculpting” concept. This idea stems from the need to merge aesthetics and functionality, accelerating time-to-market and responding to an increasingly evident market trend: creating bottles that stand out not only visually but also through touch, giving them a unique identity and a premium feel. Through targeted interventions on forms and textures, Sculpting enhances packaging already optimized for production, introducing exclusive details without compromising technical performance or extending development timelines.
"At Berlin Packaging we aim at genuinely understanding our clients and transforming their vision into reality through tailored packaging solutions. In the wine and spirits segment, this translates to delivering packaging that balances economic viability, technical excellence, and strategic value," explains Kristian Van de Cauter, General Manager, France – highlighting: “Our approach is built on three pillars: heritage, innovation, and sustainability. The solutions we're presenting here perfectly embody this philosophy, elevating customization to the next level and creating genuine value for our partners."
All concepts are developed within Studio One Eleven, Berlin Packaging's design and innovation center that merges the creative mindset of a design agency with manufacturing precision. The studio manages every stage of the development process – from initial concept to technical execution using advanced prototyping technologies, through to visual identity and decoration for primary and secondary packaging. This approach enables producers to arrive with a brief and leave with tangible solutions: concrete proposals, sometimes even 3D prototypes ready for evaluation. While this model has become standard in spirits, it is now increasingly adopted in the wine sector as well, offering clients a seamless path from vision to market-ready packaging. What sets Studio One Eleven apart in wine and spirits is its ability to transform personalization into a functionally distinctive asset.
“Sculpting”: the fast bespoke revolution for the Spirits world
The first tangible expression of “Sculpting” features the iconic Nocturne bottle, a true classic in the Spirits world. While preserving its unmistakable and timeless silhouette, the design has been enriched with innovative details that refresh its look without altering its original dimensions, without having to modify filling lines or secondary packaging. A key element in the development of the Nocturne Sculpted line is the optimization of the glass base. Offered in 4 visually unique versions of the base, the bottle features reduced weight and material usage without any compromise on strength or quality. Each model can be paired with Vinolok glass closures, featuring a matching design and sealing ring mande of EVA, a recyclable plastic material that perfectly balances aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability.
Ribs: the detail beyond the surface chosen by clients like La Liquoristerie de Provence
Within the “Sculpting” concept, Berlin Packaging reinterprets four iconic bottles from its Spirits range – Alfie, Helium, Essence, and Belleville – introducing surface textures that dialogue with existing lines, maintaining original recognizability while highlighting character. The new ribs – available in slim, clean, bold, and oblique variations – are a visual and tactile detail created to amplify the bottle’s aesthetic impact, without affecting functionality or compatibility with main decoration techniques.
A concrete example of this approach in action is La Liquoristerie de Provence, a heritage brand crafting liqueurs exclusively from natural Provençal ingredients – figs, melons, and local botanicals – distilled through traditional methods. Seeking to modernize its image and position its versatile offerings within contemporary mixology and gastronomy, the brand needed packaging that honored its artisanal roots while signaling premium evolution. The Helium Ribs bottle proved the ideal solution, delivering the contemporary aesthetic required while preserving authentic character. This case exemplifies Berlin Packaging's commitment: supporting clients in their market repositioning by identifying solutions that authentically reflect both heritage and aspiration – transforming packaging into a strategic business tool.
These proposals will be showcased at Wine Paris (Hall 2.2 – Booth C110), alongside Berlin Packaging’s extensive range dedicated to wine and spirits.
