Aptar Beauty was awarded the “Inclusive Designer” label in Paris on October 16, 2025, as part of its continued collaboration with APF France handicap and long-standing commitment to inclusive design. Aptar Beauty is the first company in the beauty and packaging industries to be acknowledged for its proactive approach to accessible and responsible design. It is also one of the first four major companies in France to receive the label, selected for exemplary practices in inclusive innovation.
About the Label
APF France handicap is a national organization advocating for the rights and inclusion of people with disabilities. Its innovation department, the TechLab, specializes in inclusive design and supports companies in developing more accessible products and services by involving people with disabilities and seniors directly in the design process.
The “Inclusive Designer” label was created by TechLab in collaboration with the Technology for Change Chair at Institut Polytechnique de Paris, which explores the intersection of innovation, inclusion, and sustainability. Following a rigorous audit of the tools and methods deployed in inclusive innovation, the TechLab awarded Aptar Beauty Level 1 certification under this label.
Valid for three years, this label certifies that the company meets a high standard of inclusivity in the design of its products and services, mainly by involving diverse individuals with reduced mobility, disabilities and seniors, early in the creative process. Aptar Beauty conducts collaborative ideation workshops in partnership with APF France handicap to test new packaging prototypes as well as existing products. These sessions help identify concrete areas for improvement regarding user experience and formalize best practices for future packaging development.
Inclusivity at the Core of Packaging Dispensing Innovation
This certification is part of Aptar Beauty’s long-term innovation strategy, committed to making all beauty and personal care packaging more inclusive and more empowering, to enhance the user experience for all. As a global leader in dispensing systems, Aptar Beauty has published two white papers on the subject: The Role of Packaging Dispensing in Making Beauty More Inclusive (2023) and Aptar Beauty’s Comprehensive Guide to Inclusive Packaging Design (2024).
These guides offer deeper insights into the challenges faced by people with disabilities when using beauty products and provide actionable recommendations to help companies move toward universal design.
