Engagement for circularity

Albéa develops monomaterial compact in full PP

Albéa is extending its range of single-material packs for the skincare market with a refillable compact made entirely of polypropylene (PP) and therefore recycling-ready. This innovative and lightweight pack with low impact combines personalization and eco-responsibility.

The new 100% PP compact is metal-free and meets the major criteria for cosmetics packaging: light weight, intuitive consumer experience and high mechanical resistance. With 35% less weight compared to similar sized plastic compacts and a refillable function, the new compact has an environmental impact reduced by 53% after only two refills.

A flexible and responsible concept

In addition to its intuitive refill system, which makes it easy to replace the empty cup, the newcomer adapts to the design of different cases (make-up palette, mono-compact etc.). Albéa thus offers beauty brands a flexible concept for their different needs while allowing consumers to play an active role in the adoption of more responsible habits by promoting refillable systems.

Aline Roland, Marketing Director Cosmetics & Fragrance explains: “This new development goes beyond reusability as it also ensures the recycling of the materials at the end of the pack’s life. It is therefore a perfect example of circularity, a key topic at the heart of Albéa’s innovations.”
