Emballator takes important step to grow with tubes for medical and pharmaceutical segment

Emballator Tectubes has long experience from manufacturing tubes for medical products. As a part of the company’s strategy to grow in the medical and pharmaceutical segment, the unit in Åstorp has now become certified according to ISO 15378.

The Emballator Tectubes unit in Åstorp has for a long-time manufactured products for demanding customers in the medical segment. With more than 130 million injection-moulded tubes sold every year, Emballator Tectubes are experts in this kind of tubes.

“We have been working with these demands for many years. What we have done now is to strengthen the processes we have and make sure that we reach the demands according to ISO 15378”, says Andreas Magnusson, Quality Manager at Emballator Tectubes.

Since before, Emballator Tectubes are certified according to ISO 14001, ISO 9001, and FSSC 22000. Adding the ISO 15378 is an important part of the company’s strategy towards the medical and pharmaceuticals segments.

“We have long experience from working with these market segments and we want to deepen our partnership with customers in these segments. We also think this is an important step for our personal care customers. The certification is a proof that we have the trust, the conditions, and defined processes to deliver to demanding customers”, says Tobias Lidevei, CEO at Emballator Tectubes.

An important area in the system is to ensure material and traceability in all processes. This is nothing new for Emballator Tectubes, but the company have now focused on creating more clarity in the processes. “We have stable processes for traceability since before. Having the system tested against higher demands with good results strengthens us. But this is not just about manufacturing, we have also worked with, among other things, IT security, to ensure that data is handled and preserved correctly, both now and in the future. We have also worked on adding these requirements to the organization in an understandable way”, says Andreas.
