The new Chance by Chanel bottles are adopting a “naturally aluminium” decor designed by g.pivaudran

Chanel is continuing to move forward with the eco-responsible transformation of its product ranges. Its Chance Eau Fraîche by Chanel eau de toilette range will now boast an anodised aluminium strip made in France, in place of the galvanised polished brass used until now. To rise to the challenge of this change in material, the premium brand has called on the expertise of g.pivaudran.

The choice of aluminium as part of a bolstered CSR strategy

Chanel has taken on a strong objective for all of its product lines in opting to move responsible products. To assist with the accesorisation of its new Chance bottles, it called upon the expertise of g.pivaudran. The strip around the bottle, initially made from galvanised polished brass, is now made from anodised aluminium. These strips are made in the Lot region of France, and assembled by glassmakers who are partners of the brand, in both France and Italy. This change, which is admittedly unnoticeable by consumers, nevertheless represents a strong symbolic gesture by Chanel in its eco-responsible transformation, stripped of any ostentatiousness as well as being both effective and practical.

A considerable challenge for g.pivaudran

The manufacture of strips around the Chance bottles was a considerable challenge for teams of employees at g.pivaudran. They had to use their entire range of expertise to shape a fine aluminium strip (0.6mm), highly delicate in its manipulation, which sat perfectly around the cylindrical curvature of the bottle which retaining the shiny aspect of the material. A complex range requiring the total flexibility of strips, combined with the precision of automated assembly.

Manufacturer g.pivaudran has now taken over the production of all formats of fragrances: 35 ml, 50 ml, 100 ml and 150 ml.

Chanel is launching the sale of these new bottles with the 100 ml version. It will then continue with the anodised aluminium formats in 2024.

An achievement concealing a host of others…

This achievement for Chanel is just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the possibilities offered by g.pivaudran. The company, specialising in aluminium, has adapted this material to all of the brand’s requirements, combined with their eco-responsibility needs. It offers packaging solutions “100% aluminium” and/or made from “recycled aluminium” for premium and luxury products.

Our expertise allows us to shape aluminium in a host of manners, to assembly a range of materials and resolve the current requirements of our clients. Aluminium, by its very nature, is eco-responsible, can be endlessly recycled, is lightweight and suitable for multiple uses, and forms our response to the desire for added value by luxury brands”, outlined Marc Pivaudran, CEO of g.pivaudran.

During the SPECIAL EDITION event by LUXE PACK, g.pivaudran will present a wide range of its products made with its clients as well as tests showcasing aluminium and all of its eco-responsible assets. The company will offer a concrete demonstration that a “naturally aluminium” packaging or accessory is also naturally full of luxury.
