Ahlstrom, a global leader in fiber-based specialty materials, has been recognized for its approach to climate action, earning an A score in the 2025 CDP Supplier Engagement Assessment (SEA). This is the second consecutive year Ahlstrom has achieved the highest possible rating in the assessment.
The Supplier Engagement Assessment evaluates how effectively companies engage their suppliers on climate-related topics. It evaluates companies’ performance across key areas such as governance and business strategy, targets, Scope 3 emissions, risk management processes, and supplier engagement.
Through this assessment, CDP highlights organizations that are actively working with their suppliers to reduce emissions and strengthen transparency. Strong supplier engagement is considered a key enabler in the transition to a low-carbon economy, particularly as value chain emissions represent a significant share of total impact.
At Ahlstrom, supplier collaboration is an integral part of the company’s sustainability agenda. All suppliers are expected to commit to Ahlstrom’s Code of Conduct or demonstrate equivalent standards, and partnerships are built with a focus on continuous improvement and long-term value creation.
“Maintaining an A score for a second consecutive year demonstrates Ahlstrom’s sustained commitment to advancing climate action across its value chain together with its suppliers. Working with suppliers is built on strong partnerships and a shared commitment to progress. In practice, this means integrating ESG considerations into our daily collaboration. By doing so, we improve transparency, drive continuous improvement, and create long-term value for both Ahlstrom and our suppliers,” says Bernard Arrateig, Supplier & Responsible Procurement Manager.
Ahlstrom’s broader sustainability progress is reflected in recent external assessments. The company earned a Leadership score of A‑ in the 2025 CDP Climate Disclosure for the second consecutive year. In addition, Ahlstrom was awarded a Platinum medal in the 2025 EcoVadis sustainability assessment, maintaining its position among the top one percent of companies assessed globally. This progress is supported by Ahlstrom's 1.5°C aligned near-term and long-term targets as well as company’s net-zero targets, which were validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2024.
